Tres Colinas, on the road less graveled

Proud Dad and graduate (Clark) |
We've been busy and waiting for some projects to finish, so I haven't made the time to post a new blog. Also we were back in Knoxville for a week in mid-May for my son's graduation from law school. We had a good week visiting with Clark and several friends back in Knoxville. Clark graduated #1 in his class of 160+ and will work as a clerk under a Federal District Court judge for the next year. In the fall of 2014, he will move to Nashville where he will work for Bass, Berry and Sims. He plans to focus on civil litigation. He's spending the summer preparing for the Tennessee Bar Exam which involve almost as much class time as school.

We made a stop in West Monroe, LA on the way back to Texas. That's all the information any good redneck needs to know but the these pictures should help any of you not initiated to the redneck ways. While it looks exactly like it does on their TV show, I wasn't prepared for the number of people that were visiting. Their parking lot was so full they had people directing traffic. There were people in the store buying duck calls and other logo items that I suspect have never seen the inside of a duck blind. We heard some of the staff talking about plans to build a new warehouse.

Meanwhile, back on the farm
We got the barn finished and I'm very pleased with how it looks. Here are a few pictures picking up where the last post ended:
There is still a little dirt work to do at the front and right side (facing) but that should be finished this week.
We also got our gate installed. It needs a coat of paint but here it is.

She thinks my tractor's sexy
Well, that might be a stretch but we're glad to have finally found a tractor. I've been mowing, moving dirt

and will soon begin work on the garden. I also used it to shape up the RV port (leveled the ground and spread gravel).
Back where I come from it cornbread and chicken
Finally, we had a little baking day with Nicole and Ava (they did all the baking but Pam and I did some eating). I think cornbread it the only type they didn't bake.
